Rohit Sharma funds Sri Lanka fan’s ticket to return home for Father’s Surgery

Team India’s stand in captain for the Sri Lanka series Rohit Sharma showed his humanitarian side, as he helped a Sri Lanka fan to return home, to be present for the surgery of his ailing father.

Mohamed Nilam, a famous Sri Lanka cricket team fan, has been traveling to see all the matches of his team during the India tour and was scheduled to depart after the end of the Series.

However, his father was diagnosed with throat cancer during the third test in Delhi and he needed to return home, but didn’t had the required funds to book a fresh ticket.

When Sudhir Gautam, famous Sachin Fan, informed this to Rohit Sharma, he arranged Nilam flight ticket from Delhi to Colombo.

“Rohit called me to the team hotel and gave me the ticket, approximately INR 20,000. He returned and his father’s surgery went well” Nilam told.
