SLC to appoint Hathurusingha as Sri Lanka Head Coach

Sri Lanka Cricket today ( December 8) announced that after the approval of the Executive Committee on 6th December, Chandika Hathurusinghe will be appointed as the Head Coach of the Sri Lanka National Team, and will assume duties from the 20th December.

Hathurusinghe, who is largely considered as one of the best coaches in the World, is set to re-joins Sri Lanka Cricket after previous stints as Head Coach of the Sri Lanka A Team (2006-2009) and Shadow coach of the National Team (2009-2010).

Sri Lanka Cricket will host a Press Briefing to introduce Hathurusinghe on the 20th of December.

Hathurusingha has played 26 tests and 35 ODI’s for Sri Lanka. But, he is a universally well-Known as a innovative and forward Thinking Coach. He has associated as a Shadow Coach with Sri Lanka team, during Kumar Sangakkara tenure as the captain.

Under his supervision, Bangladesh has become one of the most competitive team in the world m, especially on their home soil.

Interestingly, Hathurasingha first assignment with Sri Lanka is the head Coach will be the tour of Bangladesh, in January 2018.
