Kamindu Mendis to lead Sri Lanka in U19 World Cup 2018

Richmond’s College batting allrounder Kamindu Mendis will lead the Sri Lanka team in next year’s U19 World Cup, to be played in New Zealand. The tournament will be played from January 13 to February 3.

Kamindu Mendis will become the second player from the College to lead U19 side in World Cup, after his senior Charith Asalanka captained the side in previous Edition.

Jehan Daniel, the allrounder from St. Joseph College, Will be his deputy, while selectors have put Vishwa Fernando and Ayana Siriwardana as standby. Ayana was the captain of the side, which played in Challenger Trophy in India, recently.

Selectors are yet to announce the squad.
