Shaminda Eranga set to return to Competitive Cricket

Sri Lanka fast bowler Shaminda Eranga has declared himself fully fit to make a comeback into the national team. He has not played for Sri Lanka since June 2016, due to illness and ban from the ICC over suspect bowling action.

“Thank you everyone who keeps asking me about my status. I’ve been practicing well and fully fit to start again for national duty. Thank you @OfficialSLC fans for supporting me through out” he wrote on his twitter handle.

Eranga, 31, was initially reported after the second test against England at Chester-Le-Street on 31st May 2016. However, However, In July 2017, ICC cleared his action after he underwent a re-assessment of his action at the ICC Accrediated testing centre in Chennai.

Shaminda holds the unique record of taking a wicket in his very first over in all three formats of the game. So far, he has played 19 tests, 19 ODIs and 3 T20I for Sri Lanka.
