Gautam Gambhir joins debate on national anthem in cinema halls

Written by Vipin Darwade

Team India’s discarded opener Gautam Gambhir does not mince words while opposing criticism against the nation or Indian Army.

Recently, Supreme Court sought the Centre’s stance on standing while the national anthem played in the cinema halls. Gambhir took to his Twitter handle to express his opinion on the matter. The Delhi opener lashed out at people who refused to stand during the 52-second national anthem. The 36-year-old did not hold back as he questioned those who willed to wait outside a club or a restaurant but opposed standing for the national anthem.

“Standin n waitin outsid a club:20 mins.Standin n waitin outsid favourite restaurant 30 mins.Standin for national anthem: 52 secs. Tough?” he posted on his twitter handle.

Obviously, his question was for all those who stand in long queues outside restaraunts and clubs but do not have the patience to stand up while the national anthem is being played.
