In a surprising move, Sri Lanka have dropped Akila Dhananjaya, Suranga Lakmal and Lahiru Gamage for the fifth and final match of the ODI series against Pakistan in Sharjah, today.

Trailing the series 4-0 and in danger to face third whitewash of the year, Sri Lanka won the toss and choose to bat. In place of Dhananjaya, Lakmal and Gamage, Sri Lanka have included Jeffery Vandersay, Dushmantha Chameera and Vishwa Fernando in the playing XI.

Interestingly, among three, Dhananjaya and Gamage were teo most threatening bowlers for Sri Lanka in the series so far. Dhananjaya was largely economical in the middle overs, while Gamage provided early wickets in almost all the matches. Apart from bowling, Dhananjaya was more than useful with his batting too, even struck a composed half century in the series.

Pakistan also made one change for the match, as they included allrounder Faheem Ashraf in place of Junaid Khan.
