As soon as the news of Former cricketer Sajith Fernando being added as one of the selector to the panel broke, there were also questions started to pouring.
The main concern everyone had : is Sajith Fernando eligible to be appointed as selector? Does SLC constitution allows first class cricketers as well to be appointed as selectors, because Sajith played only FC Cricket, not a Sri Lanka international.
When, Cricket Age Sri Lanka correspondent inquired the issue, it has learnt that according to SLC
Constitution ratified by the board in May 2017, Even first class players can also take over as the National selectors, and thus nothing wrong in Sajith Fernando appointment as one of the National selector.
It has been mentioned in Section 12 (b) and (c)
