SLC to lodge complaint over toss blunder by match referee

Written by Rohit Pawar

As it has emerged that match referee Andy Pycroft denied a chance for Sri Lanka to take the advantage of winning the toss during the solitary t20 against India on 6th September at R. Premdasa, sri lanka cricket board is mulling over the possibility to lodge complaint at ICC, Cricket Age has learnt.

“Top officials of the SLC sent all the related material of toss blunder to President Mr. Sumathipala on Thursday morning. he is travelling at the moment so need to wait till he lands to see what next step is” a source told.

Video replays suggest that match referee Andy Pycroft was the man, who made the mistake of awarding India the toss despite Sri Lanka winning it.

Team India’s captain Virat Kohli had called ‘head’ at the toss, as Upul Tharanga flipped the coin. After Coin hit the pitch, Match referee Andy Pycroft said – “Tails – India!”
TV presenter Murali Karthik walked over straight to Virat Kohli, and Kohli decided to bat first.

Eventually, India decided to field first, and won the match comfortably, even as Sri Lanka posted a formidable total of 170.
