Written by Toshi Pawar

Saddened by the painful defeats of their beloved team, Sri Lanka supporters have shown their anger and frustration publically during the ongoing series. So much so that there were protests against the in Pallekele, first such kind of incident in cricket mad nation, and at R. Premdasa, for the fourth ODI, they almost boycott the match, as the stands were embarrassingly empty.

Normally a cricket loving fans, and those sights of playing drums, dancing and clapping were missing at R. Premdasa.

“Sad to see Sri Lankan cricket at its lowest. hardly any people watching cricket in the stadium..it used to be full house. #Indvslanka” wrote team India’s ace off spinner Harbhajan Singh on twitter.

Though, Anticipating a fan uprise like in Kandy and Dambulla, SLC President Thilanga Sumathipala had organised his string men to be in strategic positions in the stadium to stack the genuine Sri Lankan fans.

The persons who were in charge of this gang were non other than Sujeewa Godaliya and Shammi Silva, the right hand of Sumathipala.

The only peoples, that witnessed the game were Thilanga’s thugs, who were fully intoxicated through the liquor provided. Shammi Silva provided the booze, food and transport

Apparently, Sujeewa Godaliya is the CEO of Lakbima, the news paper that is run and managed by Sumathipala family.
