Tharindu, Vithanage recalled for practice match against India

Sri Lanka selectors have recalled off-spinner Tharindu Kaushal for the two day practice match against India, starting from tomorrow at CCC ground, Colombo.

Dashing left-hander Kithruwan Vithanage, Sehan Jayasuriya, Roshane Silva are other notable inclusions, while discarded Lahiru Thirimane will captain the team. Selectors have also included Sadun Weerakoody as wicket keeper batsman in the squad.

Tharindu, 24, has played seven test matches, and his last test was against West Indies in October 2015. Often regarded as the official successor of Legendary Muttiah Muraltharan, Tharindu is known for his variations and Dossra. He tormented team India, when they toured last time in 2015 with 13 wickets.

Vithanage, 26, also played his last test in 2015, but famous for his agrresive batting, he was in some decent form in domestic matches recently.
