Written by Pushpendra Albe

Magical  spinner R Ashwin dismentaled Australian batsmen on the fourth day of the second Test in Bengaluru, picking six wickets and leading the way as India beat Australia by 75 runs to level the four-match series 1-1.

This was Ashwin’s 25th five-wicket haul in an innings in Test cricket and he has now become the fastest to reach this milestone. Ashwin needed just 88 Tests to break Sri Lankan legend Muttiah Muralitharan’s record who took 100 Tests to clinch 25 five-wicket hauls. Third on the list is New Zealand great Richard Hadlee. The all-rounder took 111 Tests to achieve this feat.
