India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant’s much-hyped association with IPL franchise Lucknow Super Giants lasted just two seasons before the two teams parted ways through a trade deal. In a high-profile move, Pant has been traded back to his former franchise, Delhi Capitals, with Kuldeep Yadav heading to LSG.
Pant was acquired by LSG for a record-breaking Rs 27 crore ahead of the 2025 season which is the highest amount ever paid for a player at an IPL auction.
As part of the trade, he returns to DC at a revised fee of Rs 15 crore. Left-arm spinner Kuldeep joins LSG at his existing fee of Rs 13.50 crore.
Pant bid farewell to LSG with a three-word message on Instagram.
“Thank You Team,” Pant wrote on an Instagram story while resharing a post from LSG that thanked their former captain for his time with the franchise.
Pant began his IPL career with the DC and spent nine seasons with them from 2016 to 2024. During that period, he made 111 appearances which is the most by any player for the team so far.
