Defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru punched their ticket in the final of IPL 2026 with their 92-run win over Gujarat Titans at the Dharamshala on Thursday in qualifier 1 of the playoffs.
RCB posted a total of 254 riding on skipper Rajat Patidar’s 93-run innings and bundled GT out in 19.3 overs with Jacob Duffy logging a three-fer, while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Krunal Pandya and Rashik Salam picked up a couple of wickets each.
Former Team Indian batter and chief selector Krishnamachari Srikanth opined that he would like to see Patidar, Krunal and Bhuvneshwar back in Team India’s white-ball setup.
“If I were the chairman of the committee today, I’d give Rajat Patidar a chance for Indian in white ball cricket,” Srikanth began.
“They should give him a chance in white ball cricket, be it T20 or ODI cricket,” the former Indian opener said.
“Krunal Pandya deserves a chance in T20 cricket, and I’ve been saying this, Bhuvneshwar Kumar deserves a call back in T20 cricket for India,” he said.
