Varun Chakaravarthy etched his name in the history books as he became the fastest Indian spinner to reach 200 wickets in T20 cricket on Sunday.
The landmark came with the key wicket of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, dismissed in Chakravarthy’s first over after being introduced. He got to 200 wickets in 155 innings, going past Kuldeep Yadav (160) to set a new record for an Indian spinner, and is now second-fastest overall among Indians behind Arshdeep Singh.

Chakravarthy got to the landmark with the wicket of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, striking in his first over after being introduced. The achievement also made him the second-fastest Indian overall to the mark, behind Arshdeep Singh.
