India have lost openers Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan in the powerplay against Netherlands in their final Group A match in T20 World Cup 2026 in Ahmedabad on Wednesday. India have reached 44/2 after 5 overs, with captain Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma at the crease.
Abhishek Sharma was clean bowled for zero in the very first over, making it three ducks in a row for the No. 1-ranked T20I batter in the world. Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bat, and announced two chances, bringing in pacer Arshdeep Singh and all-rounder Washington Sundar.
India have won each of their first three group games, and sealed their Super 8 berth. On the other hand, Scott Edwards-led Netherlands’ Super 8 hopes were dashed ahead of the match, as Pakistan won against Namibia and earned the second qualification spot.
