Jay Shah announces launch of T20 World Cup Trophy Tour at Ram Setu

Jay Shah, the chairman of International Cricket Council (ICC) Tuesday announced the launching the T20 World Cup Trophy Tour at the magnificent Ram Setu.

“The excitement continues to build for the ICC Men’s #T20WorldCup 2026 with the launch of the Trophy Tour at the magnificent Ram Setu, the historical link between India and Sri Lanka. The 20-team tournament starts February 7, and features 55 matches across India and Sri Lanka” Shah posted on X.

In the T20 World Cup 2026, India will open their campaign on February 7 in Mumbai against the USA and then take on Namibia in their second Group A match at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on February 12. India’s third group match will be played on February 15 at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo against Sri Lanka, and on February 18, the two-time T20 World Cup winners will face the Netherlands at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium.

The tournament will use eight venues in total: five in India (Ahmedabad, Chennai, Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai) and three in Sri Lanka (Kandy and two grounds in Colombo).

The ICC has made tickets highly affordable with initial prices starting from just ₹100 in India and LKR1000 in Sri Lanka.

ICC CEO, Mr. Sanjog Gupta, emphasised the focus on fan access, stating: “With tickets starting from just ₹100 and LKR100, we are putting affordability at the centre of our strategy.”
