India and Pakistan will face each other in the T20 World Cup 2026, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the full schedule of the tournament. Hosted by India and Sri Lanka, the tournament will kickstart on February 7, 2026. India will take on Pakistan on February 15 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, at 7:00 PM IST. The final of the tournament will be held on March 8, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Rohit Sharma, the winning captain of the 2024 edition, has been named as the brand ambassador of the T20 World Cup 2026.
Most of the big-picture details are already settled. The tournament will once again feature 20 teams split into four groups of five, followed by a Super Eight stage and then the semi-finals and final. The line-up is locked in: alongside heavyweights India, Pakistan, Australia, England, South Africa, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Bangladesh, the draw also includes emerging sides such as Nepal, Oman, the UAE and Italy.
