South Africa bowling coach Piet Botha has said that a call on Kagiso Rabada’s participation in the Guwahati Test will be made on the eve of the Guwahati Test. Rabada missed the Kolkata Test win due to a rib injury during a training session ahead of the game. The ace pacer missed training on Thursday, November 20.
After the win, the South African media manager said that the pacer was still under assessment and Botha echoed the same sentiments. The bowling coach said that Rabada is being monitored at the moment ahead of the match.
“We are monitoring Kagiso Rabada and we will take a call in the next 24 hours,” said Botha.
The Proteas bowling coach also cleared Simon Harmer and expects the off-spinner to be a handful in Guwahati as well. Harmer picked up eight wickets in total during the Kolkata Test and was adjudged as the Player Of The Match, and Botha was quick to rule out any issues with the spinner.
“No problems with Simon Harmer’s shoulder. If ball starts turning as early as it did in Kolkata, he will be dangerous with so many left-handers in the line up,” said Botha.
