Former India cricketer Sourav Ganguly has praised the India captain Suryakumar Yadav for the team’s decision to not shake hands with Pakistan players during their Asia Cup 2025 fixture. The India captain didn’t shake hands with his Pakistan counterpart Salman Agha during the toss and ignored his opponents once again after thrashing the arch-rivals by seven wickets.
Suryakumar also dedicated the win to the victims of the Pahalgam terrorist attack and the Indian armed forces. The ‘no handshake’ decision didn’t go down well with Pakistan as captain Salman Agha expressed his displeasure by not coming for the post-match presentation.
“We must ask Surya about this. He has already answered it yesterday. Terror must stop. Play must go on. I am not at all surprised by the performance of Indian cricket team,” said.
Meanwhile, Pakistan cricket team has launched a formal protest against the Indian players over the ‘no handshake’ controversy. News agency PTI reported that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken to the Asian Cricket Council to lodge a complaint against the Indian team, who refused to shake hands
