Shubman Gill, Jasprit Bumrah and Sanju Samson have all been selected in India’s 15-man squad for the Asia Cup. The squad, announced on Tuesday afternoon, will be led by Suryakumar Yadav and has Gill as the vice-captain.
Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakaravarthy along with Axar Patel are the designated spinners.
The pace attack comprises only three specialists – Bumrah, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh – along with Hardik and Dube as seam-bowling options.
India will begin its build-up to the men’s T20 World Cup next February with the Asia Cup in the UAE, which kicks off on September 9, with India playing its opening match a day later.
