The Italy men’s cricket team will play in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026. The Italian side qualified for their first-ever Cricket World Cup on Friday (July 11). Italy, despite losing their last ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier 2025 match against the Netherlands by 9 wickets at The Hague on Friday, managed to finish in the top two, and as a result, they will travel to India next year to take part in the 2026 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

The 2026 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup will be played across multiple venues in India and Sri Lanka in February and March next year.

In the 2024 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, which was played in the West Indies and USA, three teams—Uganda, Canada, and the United States of America—made their maiden appearance, and the Americans even managed to qualify for the Super 8s.

The Italian team, after a memorable show in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier 2025, where they stunned Scotland by 12 runs on July 9, would like to do well in the shortest format mega-event next year.

Italy and the Netherlands’ qualification for the T20 World Cup 2026 on Friday also resulted in a heartbreak for Jersey. The Jersey men’s cricket team also finished the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier 2025 with 5 points from four matches, but they finished third behind Italy due to a poor Net Run Rate (NRR).
