Chennai Super Kings (CSK) wicketkeeper batter MS Dhoni advised Vaibhav Suryavanshi to not take pressure when the expectations rise from him. The 14-year-old batting sensation scored his second half century in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025) as he played a match-wining innings of 57 off 33 against CSK on Tuesday, May 21 at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.

Courtesy of his knock, Rajasthan Royals (RR) successfully chased down the target of 188 in 17.1 overs and won the match by six wickets to end the season on a winning note. After the game, MS Dhoni was asked to give a word of advice for all the youngsters, who’ve excelled in the ongoing season especially the likes of Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre.

The legendary wicketkeeper batter said that the batters will have to look for consistency which is hard to get when they’re striking at over 200. He also said that there’s no need to take extra pressure as the expectations rise.

“They have to try for the consistency, but if you are looking for 200-plus strike rate then consistency is hard to get. They have the ability to hit sixes at any stage. Don’t take pressure, when the expectations rise. Learn from senior players and coaching staff, it’s about reading the game. This would be my advice to all the youngsters who have done well,” said Dhoni during the post-match chat after CSK’s loss.
