Sri Lanka’s most cherished Sport has taken an ugly turn, as one of the most prestigious and oldest Galle Cricket Club’s (GCC) president Charles Silva is getting death threats!
Earlier this month, In a significant development, Mount Lavinia District Court reinstated Charles Silva as Galle Cricket Club (GCC) president.Charles Silva was removed from his position last month by conspiracy and manipulation, however the district court found it unconstitutional and was reinstated with Immediate effect.
According to sources, upon Charles Silva’s return as president, Club’s former secretary Ruwan Galappaththy and committee member Dilshan Niroshan were funded by Prasad Manjula to stop him from entering the club and resume his duties, by threatening through his friend circle. The accusations are that Manjula Intends to become GCC president!
The stunning development comes on the sidelines of Mount Lavinia District Court’s order to remove controversial and notorious secretary Ruwan Galappaththy from his position, while also stopping him from entering the club, by canceling his membership.
