Australia’s Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins has dropped a big hint about his participation in Sunrisers Hyderabad’s upcoming IPL 2026 match against Rajasthan Royals. In three pictures posted by Cummins from his Instagram account on Friday (April 24), he can be seen bowling in the nets.
In the caption of the now viral post, the 32-year-old fast bowler stated that he is stinging to get back into it (action) tomorrow (on Saturday, April 25).
“Been a long time coming, stinging to get back into it tomorrow,” Cummins captioned the post.
Cummins, who was retained for Rs 18 crore by the Hyderabad-based franchise ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction, last played a competitive cricket match in December 2025 and led Australia to a win over England in the third Ashes Test.
He was included in Australia’s preliminary T20 World Cup 2026 squad but was later ruled out of the 20-team tournament in India and Sri Lanka due to fitness-related issues. The same fitness-related issues delayed his IPL return as well.
In Cummins’ absence, star Indian wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan led SRH in the first seven matches of the ongoing IPL 2026 season and secured four wins.
It will, however, be interesting to see if Cummins returns as SRH captain on Saturday against Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur or plays under Ishan’s leadership.
