New Zealand’s star batters Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips made the Indian bowlers toil hard after building a record-breaking partnership in the third ODI. Mitchell smashed his fourth century against India, whereas Phillips, who began his knock slowly, smashed a brilliant ton as they built a partnership of 219 runs for the fourth wicket.
It was a record-high partnership by Kiwi batters against India in their backyard, and also broke Tom Latham and Ross Taylor’s record in 2017. Mitchell had smashed 137 runs, whereas Phillips had scored 106 and helped the team bounce back after suffering a batting collapse.
