The BCCI on Tuesday unveiled Team India’s jersey for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2026, starting Saturday, February 7. The top brass of the BCCI, secretary Devajit Saikia, joint secretary Prabhtej Singh Bhatia and BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla graced the event at Raipur’s Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Stadium, held during the innings break of the India vs South Africa 2nd ODI.

More than 100 schoolchildren from Raipur were invited onto the field to unveil a life-size replica of the Indian jersey for the upcoming ICC mega event. Later, ICC T20 World Cup ambassador Rohit Sharma, BCCI secretary Saikia and Tilak Varma took the podium for the official reveal.

Rohit was the youngest team member when India won the trophy in 2007, defeating Pakistan in South Africa. His last T20I appearance for India was the 2024 T20 World Cup final, where his boys defeated the Proteas in the Caribbean. As he is going to watch the upcoming edition as a fan and as the tournament ambassador, he extends his best wishes to the defending champions.

“It’s been a long journey. We won the first T20 World Cup in 2007, and then, it took us 15-odd years to win the next one. We have been through ups and downs, but it’s always good to win the trophy. And now, we all know, that the World Cup is happening in India. It’s going to be an exciting tournament, and I wish all the very best to the Indian team,” Rohit said.

“I’m sure each and every one of us will back the team. And they will also try to give their best,” he added.

In November, the ICC released the full schedule for the men’s T20 World Cup 2026, to be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. The 20-team event starts on Saturday, February 7, with India opening their campaign against the USA at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
