Sri Lanka, In a surprising move, has named allrounder Dasun Shanaka as vice captain for the T20 tri-series In Pakistan, also featuring Zimbabwe. Discarded middle order batter Bhanuka Rajapaksa has also been recalled for the T20 tri-series, while Janith Liyanage has also been persisted, following his mid tournament Inclusion in the Asia Cup.
Dilshan Madushanka was included in the original ODI squad but will not tour as he is recovering from a knee injury. Eshan Malinga has been named as his replacement.
Matheesha Pathirana was included in the original T20I squad but will not tour as he is recovering from an Upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) he recently suffered. Asitha Fernando has been named as his replacement in the squad.
The national team is scheduled to depart for Pakistan on November 8, 2025.
