Red-ball and ODI skipper Pat Cummins will miss the bilateral event to manage himself for the upcoming Ashes series, and Nathan Ellis due to the birth of his first child.
Xavier Bartlett, who has impressed with his bowling in the final ODI against South Africa, also returned to the squad, while Cameron Green has prioritized the Sheffield Shield rounds.
