Virat Kohli begins training for ODI comeback in London

Former India captain Virat Kohli has begun practising for his return to one-day international cricket. The star batter shared a photo from his training session in London on Friday, 8 August. Kohli sought the assistance of Gujarat Titans’ assistant coach Naeem Amin in what appeared to be an indoor net session.

“Thanks for helping out with the hit, brother. Always lovely to see you,” Kohli wrote on his Instagram story, sharing a photo from the session.

Kohli looked fit and ready, dressed in a grey t-shirt and blue trousers. It appeared to be one of the first few indoor training sessions he has planned in preparation for his comeback to competitive cricket.

The post came just hours after a photo of Kohli’s greying beard went viral on social media. He was seen posing with a fan, and much of the attention was drawn to his salt-and-pepper look, with grey strands noticeably more prominent. Kohli seems to have retained the greying beard during his training as well.

Kohli is expected to be part of the Indian squad for the ODI series in Australia from October 19 to 25. His ODi comeback was delayed after a series against Bangladesh, scheduled in August, was postponed.
