Written by Sumit Seth

Delhi spinner Kuldeep Yadav has been in tremendous touch in the Indian Premier League’s 2024 season. Kuldeep has picked 6 wickets from 4 matches and has bowled at an economy of just 6.06. The spinner has been in and out of the side due to injuries but has made a huge mark for the side whenever he has taken the field.

Speaking to Jio Cinema, Kuldeep has revealed that he has been high on confidence in this tournament and has tried to focus on his skills, rather than watching hours of footage, trying to analyse the batters. The leg spinner has paired Axar Patel in the DC bowling attack and the dup have formed a formidable middle-overs partnership. Kuldeep has lauded Axar for his bowling and has said that Axar’s defensive attributes has given him a lot of freedom to attack the opposition’s batting attack.

“We have played together for a long time now, so we have a great understanding of what we need to do. Our roles are very different but we both know that taking wickets is the most important thing. His job is to control the runs, which gives me more freedom to attack for wickets. But at the same time, my focus is always more towards bowling the correct length,” Kuldeep Yadav said on Jio Cinema.

Speaking about his own abilities, Kuldeep has put a lot of faith in his process and said at the moment, everything is running on autopilot.

“I don’t watch batters anymore; it’s been two years. I have stopped watching videos as well. Maybe it’s because of my confidence. They say when your confidence is high, you don’t think about how each batter plays. You just get the ball in your hand, and you know what kind of bowling is required. I am enjoying my bowling and I have a lot of faith in my skills,” Kuldeep further added.

Kuldeep has been instrumental in DC’s back to back wins in the Indian Premier League which helped them leapfrog GT in the points table on Wednesday, 17 April.
