Virat Kohli is flying but RCB is not clicking as a unit: Aaron Finch

Written by Toshi Pawar

Former Australian cricketer, Aaron Finch pointed out that, despite Virat Kohli’s good form with the bat, the entire RCB unit hasn’t clicked together this season. Bengaluru lost to Rajasthan by 4 wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on April 6. The franchise slumped to their 3rd straight loss of the season as they were defeated comfortably by Rajasthan.

“The bowling has been an issue for RCB for the last 10 years at least. You get to this point of the season that if things aren’t well for RCB, you’re always questioning the bowling. The whole unit is not clicking at the moment,” Finch said on Star Sports.

“Obviously, Virat’s flying, he played beautifully again tonight. They’re striking at 120 for the rest of the group when you’ve got such a fantastic platform, which makes it really difficult to get in the game. And then the ball’s flying around the park,” Finch added.

On the back of Kohli’s hundred, RCB managed to post a competitive total of 183 runs. However, that didn’t prove to be enough as the bowlers looked hapless against the RR batters. Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler shared a 148-run stand as the latter scored a brilliant hundred to guide his team to win.

“They started off brilliantly. Reece Topley was outstanding with the new ball. But like Faf said in his post-game, Mayank Dagar with the sixth over probably just let the momentum slip all the way into Rajasthan’s change rooms and they couldn’t contain it after that,” Finch added.
