Cricket commentator and expert, Aakash Chopra picked Virat Kohli as his top choice for Bengaluru for the match against Kolkata on March 29 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Chopra expected Kohli to continue his stellar form in the season and also pointed out Kohli’s great record against the Kolkata franchise. He mentioned that spin could be introduced early on in the innings, but said that Kohli is skilled enough to tackle the likes of Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy.

Kohli boasted of a great record against Kolkata as he has scored 861 runs in 30 IPL matches at a strike rate of 129.27 with the highest score of 100.

“The first player I am picking is Kohli because Kohli likes Kolkata and Kohli has form. You will have to talk about Kohli in whichever team he might be. Kohli’s form is good in any case, but no one plays spin better than Kohli in this team,” Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

“When Kohli will be there with Faf du Plessis, spin will come in the first six overs. Varun Chakaravarthy or Sunil Narine might bowl, so spin will come at the start. So the focus will be on Kohli as our (RCB’s) wagon will only move forward if you score runs,” Chopra added.
