Kohli a storm you can’t stop for long: Aakash Chopra

Written by Praveen CA

Former Indian batter Aakash Chopra believes iconic batter Virat Kohli will be the focus of Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s clash against the Punjab Kings on March 25, at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. The match will see the Faf du Plessis-led RCB side battle for their first Indian Premier League 2024 points after losing their season opener against Chennai Super Kings on March 22. Making a return to cricketing action after his son’s birth, Virat Kohli will focus on having a better outing against PBKS, after managing only 21 off 20 balls against CSK.

“My focus point will be Virat Kohli. He got to play only six balls in the first six overs in the last match. Then he was playing cautiously, played a good shot as well, and then he got out,” Chopra said.

Chopra shared high praise for the batter, while predicting a big performance from Kohli.

“For how long will you stop Kohli? He is a storm you can silence for some time but cannot stop. I am eager to watch his flowing batting,” Chopra added.

Along with Kohli, Maxwell was another batter who could not make the most of the huge load of anticipation the RCB fans had with him in their season opener. Maxwell got dismissed for a duck on his very first ball of the game by Deepak Chahar. Chopra explained that the Australia batter would be another name to look out for in the next match.

“Maxwell got out for zero in the last innings. Glenn Maxwell needs to do well. His record has now become very good on this ground. He needs to score runs because you cannot depend too much on Anuj Rawat and Dinesh Karthik. So my second player in focus will be Glenn Maxwell,” Chopra stated.
