Written by Toshi Pawar

Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman was rushed to the hospital on Sunday, February 18, 2024, after he sustained a blow to the head while training with Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) side Comilla Victorians.

The accident involving Mustafizur occurred after a shot from Victorians’ skipper Litton Das, who was practising his batting in the adjacent net, struck the 28-year-old in the back of his head, resulting in considerable bleeding. The pacer was immediately stretchered off to the stand-by ambulance present at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.

The bowler was reportedly taken to the Imperial Hospital in Chattogram, where CT scans were held, and it was later confirmed by the franchise that the player was out of danger and did not suffer any internal bleeding due to the blow.

While the health and safety of Mustafizur will be a priority for the Comilla Victorians, the pacer is also one of their most dependable players and has played a crucial role in securing their current second-placed standing in the BPL 2024 campaign. The services of Mustafizur will certainly be something that the Victorians’ will not want to miss for the longer run during the most intense stages of the tournament.
