Aakash Chopra optimistic about India going with four spinners in Rajkot Test

Former Indian cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra is optimistic about India featuring four spinners in their playing XI for the highly anticipated Rajkot Test against England. The Indian team will be heading to Rajkot for the third Test against England on top of an emphatic win against the Three Lions in the second Test in Visakhapatnam. After the Vizag win, the five-match Test series between the two sides is now level at 1-1, putting special focus on the Rajkot clash, which is likely to set the tone for the rest of the series.

Chopra believes that despite Jadeja’s return to the squad if India drop Axar Patel to fit the 35-year-old into the squad, that will be an injustice to his efforts in the last two Tests.

” It’s a big question. If you see logically, I would say don’t touch Kuldeep because he is a wrist-spinnerâ€æSo I feel Kuldeep Yadav is your automatic choice but it seems like you are doing an injustice if you leave Axar out. He has been very consistent,” Aakash Chopra said in his YouTube video.

“Another option could be to play four spinners because we played Siraj in the first match and Mukesh in the second match, and both had a very limited contributionâ€æ So is it necessary to play another fast bowler? You can play with just one fast bowler,” Chopra added.
