India’s star finisher Rinku Singh was elated with India’s series win against Afghanistan on January 17, Wednesday. Rinku took to Instagram to express his joy over the record-partnership that he shared with India’s skipper Rohit Sharma.

In a remarkable turnaround in the T20Is, India recovered from 22/4 to post a mammoth total of 212. The chief architects of the epic comeback were Rohit and Rinku. The duo put up an unbroken stand of 190 runs for the 5th wicket. Rinku opened up on his record stand with Rohit and called it a masterclass in learning.

“Every moment in the middle with Rohit bhaiya is a masterclass in learning, fun and entertainment. Series win vibes.” Rinku wrote on Instagram.

It surely must have been great learning for the youngster who took India out of trouble and spent time with a senior batter like Rohit in the middle. India had found themselves in a spot of bother after the early dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal, followed by golden ducks from Virat Kohli and Sanju Samson, even Shivam Dube was tricked by the tacky surface of the Chinnaswamy stadium.

Rinku came into bat in the powerplay itself and played the initial few overs with caution. Rohit, who was holding on to the other end, notched up his fifty in 41 balls. The duo shifted gears in the middle overs before going ballistic in the death. Rohit unleashed reverse sweeps and switch-hits and became the 1st batter to score 5 T20I hundreds. The star opener scored 121 off 69 deliveries. Rinku’s knock of 69 off 39 deliveries notched up his reputation as India’s finisher. 36 runs were scored in the last over off Karim Janat, which is the joint most runs scored in an over in T20Is.
