India not same team without Jasprit Bumrah: Makhaya Ntini

South Africa pacer Makhaya Ntini has said that the Indian bowling unit does not have the same bite without the services of Jasprit Bumrah. The India pacer was not in the line-up in red ball format since India’s rescheduled Test match against England. The India pacer was ruled out due to a back injury and returned in 2023.

Speaking to PTI, Ntini praised Bumrah and seemed fascinated with the way Bumrah bowled his deliveries.

“Look where Bumrah releases the ball. He releases the ball from the top of his head. So, he gets the angle to bring the ball back in. He can get deliveries to straighten after pitching. I don’t know if he has powerful wrists and action is always the same, that’s how beautiful it is,” Ntini said.

The former South Africa speedster further added that without Bumrah India did not look at the most threatening self.

“His yorkers, he doesn’t miss any, those are the things everyone gets to enjoy. India isn’t the [same] team without Bumrah,” the former Proteas pacer went on to add.

The India speedster had missed the T20 World Cup 2022, Border Gavaskar Trophy, and IPL 2023 due to his back injury. Bumrah had surgery in New Zealand and put in a lot of work behind the scenes. The fast bowler returned to the international format as India T20I captain in Ireland and was impressive on return. Bumrah kept getting better from there on and was at his lethal self in the 2023 World Cup.
