BCCI Rejects ‘Baseless’ Reports Claiming India to Wear Alternative Kit for Pakistan Clash at World Cup

The Indian men’s cricket team will not be wearing a different kit for their highly-anticipated ICC ODI World Cup 2023 clash with Pakistan.

BCCI has denied reports claiming the Rohit Sharma-led side could be donning an alternative kit for this particular clash scheduled to be played on October 14 in Ahmedabad.

“We categorically dismiss the media reports that Team India will be donning an alternative match kit against Pakistan. These reports are absolutely baseless and a work of someone’s imagination. The Men in Blue will sport India colours – Blue at ICC Cricket World Cup 2023,” Ashish Shelar, the honorary treasurer of the BCCI was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.

During the 2019 ODI World Cup, the Indian team did wear a different kit against England – a darker shade of blue with orange sleeves. However, there are no plans as such to do something of that order this time around.

India began their ODI World Cup campaign against Australia in Chennai with an impressive six-wicket win on Sunday. Chasing 200, India were 2/3 after 2 overs before KL Rahul (97*) and Virat Kohli (85) helped them recover from the early jolts.
