India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the second ODI against Australia and has been replaced by Mukesh Kumar in the squad. India is set to take on Australia at the Holkar Stadium in Indore.

According to an update by the BCCI, Bumrah has gone to visit his family and has been given a short break by the team management. However, the break is just for the second ODI and Bumrah will join the team for the final match of the series in Rajkot.

He has gone to visit his family and given a short break by the team management. Fast bowler Mukesh Kumar has joined the team as Bumrah’s replacement for the 2nd ODI.

Bumrah made a triumphant return to international cricket in August 2023 after an 11-month hiatus due to a back injury. His comeback was marked by a winning performance that significantly boosted India’s campaign at the home World Cup in October-November of the same year.

Bumrah’s return to the field in August 2023 saw him striking twice in his first over against Ireland in a T20I match, immediately making an impact and demonstrating his recovery.

After his return, Bumrah was named in India’s squad for the 2023 Asia Cup. He played his first match in this series against Pakistan, scoring 16 runs in 14 balls. However, the match was abandoned due to rain. He was replaced by Mohammed Shami for the match against Nepal as he had to return to Mumbai for personal reasons.
