Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has heaped praise on Suryakumar Yadav and said that there is no bigger name than him in the Mumbai Indians squad at the moment.

Suryakumar had a slow start to the IPL 2023 campaign but has been in red-hot form during the past five matches. The 32-year-old had come into the game against GT after scoring three fifties in big chases for the five-time IPL Champions.

On Friday, Suryakumar seemed to be in fine touch throughout his innings as he scored his maiden IPL hundred at the Wankhede stadium. The 32-year-old scored 103 runs off 49 balls and hit 11 boundaries and six sixes during the innings.

This has propelled the MI batter into third place in the race for the Orange Cap this season with 479 runs to his name.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, as quoted by Hindustan Times, Harbhajan praised Suryakumar and said that he is single-handedly steering MI’s campaign this season.

The former spinner said that the MI batter is operating on a different level at the moment and doffed his hat to the 32-year-old.

“I can only bow down to him. Keep going. He’s almost single-handedly steering MI’s campaign. It’s not as if others aren’t performing, but Suryakumar is operating at a different level. He’s unbelievable and unstoppable. I’ve lost out of words to praise him. Salute to him,” said Harbhajan.

Harbhajan then claimed that there is no bigger name than Suryakumar in the MI squad at the moment and said he is winning hearts with his performances.

“I hope he remains fit and keep winning matches for MI. Because the chant of ‘Surya, Surya’ reverberates the whole ground the moment he comes to bat. Earlier, it used to be ‘Sachin, Sachin’, and then ‘Malinga, Malinga’. Now, it’s Suryakumar Yadav. There’s no bigger name than Suryakumar in Mumbai Indians right now. He’s winning everyone’s hearts with his performances,” said Harbhajan.
