Sri Lanka Sports Minister Writes to ICC over 3-member committee appointment

Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe Thursday said he has written to the Chairman of the International Cricket Council (ICC), requesting a discussion on reports that the ICC has appointed a 3-member committee to investigate into political interferences in Sri Lanka Cricket functioning.

On March 22, Cricket Age had exclusively published that the ICC has appointed a three member committee to assess the much talked about political Interference in the functioning of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC).

The high profile committee includes – Board Of Control For Cricket In India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah, ICC Deputy Chairman Imran Khawaja and Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan. The committee is tasked to comprehensively looking at the matter and submit the report to the game’s governing body.

The development took place after SLC’s top Officials – President Shammi Silva, CEO Ashley de Silva, Secretary Mohan de Silva and Vice President Domestic Cricket Ravin Wickramaratne – Dubai visit to attend the ICC meeting.
