To see KL Rahul’s name trolled on social media not an easy thing, says Ian Bishop

Former West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop has backed KL Rahul to find his ground across all formats, sooner than later, and said it would hurt the player to see his name being trolled on social media. Rahul has been facing immense scrutiny over his poor form in Test cricket and the Twitter spat between two former cricketers in Aakash Chopra and Venkatesh Prasad over his place in the Test XI hasn’t helped the cause.

Rahul failed to repay the faith that the team management and the selectors showed in him as he looked all at sea against both spin and pace in the first two Tests even as India went on to clinch resounding wins. Rahul was out for 20 in the first Test in Nagpur before he was dismissed for 17 and 1 in the two innings of the Delhi Test.

“I have no comments on the debate. I think it’s part and parcel of every cricketer’s life. I’ve been through it as a player and it’s just that it’s more magnified by a thousand more times that it would be in some countries. That’s because the population size is so big,” Ian Bishop told One Cricket.

“To see his name being trolled through social media is not an easy thing. He is a talented cricketer; he will find his way in different formats will take some time. I don’t want to get into that personal debate. Guys are going personally at each other. That’s not the way it should be. Just talk about it.”
