New Zealand captain Kane Williamson, star batter Tom Latham and India’s Shubman Gill, Shreyas Iyer and Sanju Samson have climbed the ladder in ICC ODI Rankings for batters, updated on Wednesday, November 30. Williamson returned to the top 10 in the batting charts after his match-winning 94 in the first ODI of a 3-match series against India.

New Zealand won the ODI series 1-0 on Wednesday after rain led to the abandonment of the series finale. India posted just 219 on the board, failing to last their full quota of 50 overs following which the hosts raced to 104 for 1 in 18 overs before the wet weather played spoilsport.

Tom Latham, who scored his career-best 145 in the first ODI in Auckland, moved up 10 places to reach 18th position while Williamson got to No. 10. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma dropped a spot each to the 8th and 9th spot in ICC ODI Rankings for batters. The two batting stalwarts along with KL Rahul were not part of the tour of New Zealand but they will have an opportunity to make amends in a 3-match ODI series against Bangladesh in December.

Meanwhile, Shreyas Iyer moved 6 places to 27th after topping the charts for India with 129 runs, which included a well-paced 80 in the first ODI. On the other hand, Shubman Gil, who shone at the top with 108 runs in 3 matches, rose 3 spots to No. 34.

Sanju Samson got only one opportunity in the ODI series, but the 36 he made in the series opener has helped him jump `10 places to 82nd.
