Written by Rohit Pawar

Former test cricketer and captain Hashan Tillakratne has resigned from Sri Lanka Women’s Team Head Coach position, Cricket Age exclusively learns.

Under Hashan’s wings, Sri Lanka Women’s Team reached in the final of recently concluded Asia Cup. However, against mighty India, Sri Lanka Women’s surrendered meekly and lost the final by 8 wickets.

It has learnt that Hashan has managed a new coaching assignment in Bangladesh Cricket and is moving to neighbouring country.

A key member of Sri Lanka’s 1996 World Cup winning team, Hashan possessed Immense patience and excellent temperament as a batsman. However, as Coach, he miserably failed at every level and was able to survive in Sri Lanka coaching setup, only due to his so called political connections. Not only him, his wife Apsari Tillakratne has also been clinging onto Women’s Team without any contribution at all, merely for financial gains!
