Veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik, on Sunday, August 28, posted a video where he can be seen sitting with Shaheen Shah Afridi in the stands. The duo watched Pakistan’s Asia Cup Group A clash against Rohit Sharma’s India at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Pakistan ended up losing the match by five wickets after India chased down 148 with two balls to spare. After the match, Malik, in the video, said that the Men in Green missed Shaheen a lot during the match.

Malik captioned the video and wrote “I think we are missing one person out there on the field right now.”

During this while, former Canada cricketer Rizwan Cheema said that Pakistan missed Shoaib Malik’s services in the middle order. “We’re definitely missing you in the team. Your experience and class batting can make a big difference,” he wrote.

A lot of eyebrows were raised after Malik wasn’t picked for the Asia Cup despite a fair amount of inexperience in the team’s middle order.

As far as Shaheen is concerned, he was ruled out of the Asia Cup due to a knee injury that he sustained during Pakistan’s Test series against Sri Lanka earlier this year.
