Virat Kohli should forget what he’s done, play with youthfulness to regain form: Michael Vaughan

Former England captain Michael Vaughan has urged Virat Kohli to go revisit the past and once again figure out the joy with which he started playing the game in order to get out of the lean patch he has been going through in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022.

Kohli has managed just 216 runs in 12 matches at an average of 19.64. The former RCB captain will be in action later on Friday, May 13 when the former finalists take on Punjab Kings in a crucial IPL 2022 encounter at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai.

“I hope Faf du Plessis has spoken to him and told him – ‘Go back 10 years when you didn’t have this profile. You’re not married and don’t have a kid. You’re going out there to whack the ball and have some fun,” Vaughan told Cricbuzz.

“Forget your age, forget what you have done,” he added.

Kohli has only one half-century to show for in IPL 2022 as the star batter has gotten out in the powerplay, more often than not. In an unprecedented turn of events, Kohli has struggled to get going, finding ways to get dismissed when the opposition is operating with the new ball.
