If everything remains on track, then in the 2024 edition of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, former India U-19 World Cup winning skipper Unmukt Chand will line-up against India in the mega event. Chand, who has now shifted his base to the United States, is part of the US cricket team. And the US is scheduled to host the 2024 edition of the World T20 alongside the West Indies.

Being the co-hosts, they have directly qualified for the tournament, and there are high chances that in the coming time, Chand will play against the Men in Blue.

The 29-year-old from Delhi was the captain of the Indian team that won the U-19 World Cup in 2012, which was played in Queensland, Australia.

In the final, he remained unbeaten on 111 off 130 balls to help his side beat the hosts by 6 wickets to win the third title in history.

That star performance against Australia Down Under opened the gates for Chand in domestic cricket as well as the IPL, but despite being part of three IPL teams – Delhi Daredevils, Rajasthan Royals, and Mumbai Indians – he failed to live up to the expectations and was shelved by the teams.

He even lost his place in the Delhi state team and then moved to play for Uttarakhand in the Ranji Trophy.

In 2021, Unmukt announced his retirement from playing cricket in India and moved to the US. He also became the first male Indian player to take part in the Big Bash League, where he represented Melbourne Renegades and featured in two matches for the side in January 2022.
