The 15th season of the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played in India from March 27 to May 28. Sourav Ganguly-led BCCI has ‘zeroed in on’ Maharashtra in order to avoid flight risk amid these testing times. Besides Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, Dr. D.Y. Patil Sports Stadium, Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, the BCCI is also keen on hosting a couple of IPL 2022 matches at the newly added Jio Stadium in Navi Mumbai. The report added that the apex cricket board is expected to share the detailed schedule of IPL 2022 by the month-end.

In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) hosted the second phase of the IPL 2021 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The 13th season was also played in the UAE in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. As per the latest developments, the 15th edition of the world’s richest league will be entirely played in India.
