Virat Kohli is likely to be given a much-needed break and rested for the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, which kicks off on February 24. The former Indian skipper has been on the road since the 2nd Test match against New Zealand and has only missed one fixture since then.

While many of the senior players have missed few games due to different reasons, Kohli hasn’t got a chance to take a rest. As per Cricbuzz, there is a chance of him being given a break for three T20Is. The right-handed batsman is presently in Kolkata, where the Men in Blue are hosting the Kieron Pollard-led West Indies in three T20Is.

Following the WI series, the Indian team willy fly to Lucknow, which hosts the opening game of the SL series. The next two games will be played in Dharamsala.

Kohli could get a chance to play his 100th Test match in Bengaluru if he is rested for the opening Test match, which will be played from March 4 to 8. Kohli was rested for the opening Test of the New Zealand series last year.
