Sri Lanka U19 Captain Dunith Wellalage eyes on a successful U19 World Cup Campaign!

Dunith wellalage, who has been appointed as Sri Lanka U19 captain for the upcomming Bangladesh series and World Cup, eyes on a successful campaign, particular in the ICC event.

Wellalage, a left-arm legspinner and left-handed batsman, is the captain of the prestigious Joseph’s college U19 team, which won the 2020-21 championship.

He has played for tbe U19 side in 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020. In 2019, while still bring an U19 player, he made his First Class debut for Lankan CC. He was a member of the Lankan CC U23 Premier Champion side and took 12 wickets in six matches including 3 in the final against SSC.

Recently, the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) appointed former cricketer Avishka Fernando as U19 coach. Eyeing on a successful U19 World Cup Campaign, legendary Mahela Jayawardene has also agreed to associate witj the team as consultant.
